Business Academy Collaboration

So for this project the overall goal was to work with the Business Academy to create this imaginary restaurant, then they were going to present this work in front of actual business people who provided feedback on what we could improve on.

So this involved a group of people consisting of 4 or 5 people. With the majority of the group coming from the Business Academy, and the rest (i.e me) coming from the Engineering Academy.. While the Business Academy people were in charge of the majority of the project, as this was really their presentation, I had to actually design what the restaurant would look like through AutoCAD drawings.

This is just some of my contribution to this project, as some of the files I have lost throughout the years. The first image is a floor plan, which basically gives the layout of the location, and kind of describes where everything should be placed. I was able to make this given specifications given to me by the Business Academy people on how they wanted their restaurant to look like. The next step would be to make an elevation plan, which instead of a top down view of the place, was more of a first person view, and would show different angles, like from the front, back, left and right and show how everything fit into the place. I did do this part, but unfortunately lost the files for it. The last step for me was to make the Vanishing Point Drawing, which showed the interior of the place as if you were actually stepping into the restaurant.

This project gave me the chance to work with a large group of people to design and create something. This opportunity taught me how to work well, and collaborate with other people, but also being able to take what they wanted and kind of design something based on certain specifications. Doing this made me realize the importance of being able to listen to your other group members, and come up with something everybody is proud of, so much so that they are able to present this project in front of actual important business people.
